Stuart and Becky Doughty

Stuart and Becky Doughty are a well known and respected couple in the agility community as handlers and trainers. Stuart is a KC Championship and a UK Agility Masters handler. He started his agility career many years ago with a working sheepdog bitch Doro (Basically Doro) that his parents bought for him, taking instructions from his dad (who was already an established handler and trainer at the time), Stuart managed a few shows and managed to reach Novice level at KC. After a long break, Stuart came back competing and training along side his wife Becky with their working sheepdogs Zak (Iffinn Dought) and Piper (In The Pipeline) Zak being a very head strong, tough dog to handle Stuart learned quickly that training a dog for agility needed time, consistency and most of all patience. Piper on the other hand was a dream for being Becky's first ever agility dog. Zak managed the dizzy heights of Grade 4 KC and Piper hit Grade 6 quite easily. After a couple of years Stuart came across a working sheepdog puppy that he was just drawn to and that was Quin (Stillinn Dought) and with training on a regular basis using a reward based, consistent system, they have managed to reach the highest levels of open agility in the UK. and have qualified for many finals, including Crufts. Becky has a young working sheepdog bitch called Switch (Switchinn Sides) which she is currently training and competing with. Switch has not been an easy dog to train, at one point we never thought she would ever compete, but with good reinforcement and foundation training, along with lot's of blood, sweat and tears has started to come together and they are climbing the grades and have qualified for several finals. Now with his new young dog Skinnt (Nedlo Calculating Risk) Stuart has already started to compete and is looking forward to the future.....
